What is FBHVC Insurance?

The Federation exists to preserve historic vehicles and safeguard the future of the community that looks after them.

This scheme is, therefore, designed as a benefit of being a Federation club, to create a compelling and valuable insurance product to offer your members as part of their club membership. It is also designed with the commitment to protect historic vehicles at its core and keep them on the road should the unthinkable occur.

Furthermore, commission payments fund our essential research and lobbying work to keep historic vehicles on the roads and invest in the support and resources for our member organisations.

Add value to your club membership

The FBHVC understands that our member clubs face an ongoing challenge of offering tangible benefits to their members. Offering such benefits helps attract new members to your club and keeps existing members renewing year after year

What does FBHVC Insurance
offer your club members?

Free salvage retention
- Receive the full agreed value and retain the salvage without deduction from the settlement. Many insurers will charge for this.
UK/EU Breakdown Cover
- Included at no additional charge and offers peace of mind whether driving in the UK or abroad.
Free agreed value
- A simple and hassle-free process.
Self-repair option
- We know that enthusiasts would often prefer to carry out the repair work themselves, so we will offer a cash alternative to cover not only the cost of the parts but your labour too.
Multi-vehicle cover
- One single policy to cover an entire collection of classic vehicles.
Laid-up cover
- Lower cost cover for historic vehicles when not on the road.
Reinstatement cover
- For vehicles with notable provenance, we can insure the vehicle for up to 25% more than the agreed or market value, adding a higher threshold before a total loss is declared.
Tools and Spare Parts cover
- £3000 of cover included as standard.
Legal protection
- Legal expenses cover included at no additional cost.

Tailored for smaller clubs

Designed for clubs with less than 1,000 members, this offers access to the benefits of a scheme usually reserved for larger clubs only by using the strength of the combined Federation community.

What vehicles does it cover?

Cars, motorcycles, agricultural vehicles, buses, coaches, military vehicles, commercial vehicles, lorries, and everything in between.

The scheme is also open to individual supporter members of the FBHVC.

We are unable to insure steam-powered vehicles at this time through this scheme.
